Oreos for Breakfast - Chapter 20
By
The
Paperbag Princess & The Pumpkin Coach
Shit, how many people were in bed with me? What the fuck did I do last night?
There was a threesome
oh, wait. That was on Lovelines. And stupid Nick
calling me
so who's in my bed?
"Happy birthday!" I heard from all around, and I opened my eyes to find all my boys and Lola bouncing on my bed.
"Krispy Kremes!" Darien announced, setting a box on my stomach as I lay there and blinked up at them.
"Hot, even!" James added.
"I like them hot," I had to admit. "Just like my men."
James grinned at me, and I had to smile back. Birthdays rocked. Even without punkass boyfriends, my band would make sure I wasn't bored. And fresh Krispy Kremes! Holding the box carefully, I sat up, smiling at them. "You rock. Where did you find these?"
"Down the street," Lola offered. "I know a place."
"Lola always knows a place," Jeremy said, nodding at her. "That's why she rocks."
I flipped open the lid and stuffed half a donut in my mouth. "A dozen Krispy Kremes, that is the best birthday present ever."
They didn't even protest my teasing. In two minutes, the entire dozen was gone, and I'd only had one. Sometimes being in a band with boys sucked.
"Okay, I want presents now," I informed them in my best birthday princess voice, and suddenly I had presents on the bed. I hadn't really expected that, but I wasn't about to argue. Lola got to me first, and I opened a bag full of girly stuff...nail polish and bath stuff and vapid fashion magazines.
She shrugged at me. "We need to combat the testosterone in every way possible," she said seriously, making me giggle. Lola was so good.
"We can paint each other's nails while they blow each other up on the video games," I told her, giving her a hug.
"That is different from any other night how?" James asked, handing me another bag. "My turn!"
James was good with gifts. Hell, he'd already given me a vibrator shaped like a bunny last week, because it cracked him up so much he couldn't wait to see my face. It was a good gift, very handy when
No. Not thinking of Nick. It was my birthday. I was not going to be depressed.
I pulled a T-shirt out of the bag James gave me, and unfolded it to see it proclaimed, "I fucked Justin Timberlake" in gold glittery letters. "Kick ass!" I cried, showing it to the others. I was tempted to put it on immediately, but decided better of stripping in front of the boys. I wasn't awake enough yet for the teasing.
"JC tells me he could arrange to have that be true," James told me, and I considered him for a minute.
"Really, how many girls can say they did Nick Carter and Justin? Or would Britney kick my ass?"
"You can so take Britney," Lola drawled. "She is a weakling."
"Dunno, I bet she has a dark side," Darien mused. "She's the bitch cheerleader."
"There are more presents!" James whined. "We can have the Britney conversation later!"
I pulled out another present and burst into giggles, holding it to my chest so no one else could see as James smirked proudly. "It's gold, did you notice?"
"No," I giggled, looking down at it again.
"What?" Darien whined. "Share!"
"Well, she's single again," James told them.
"And he got me a bunny one last week," I added.
"But you shouldn't be using that one, too depressing," James went on.
Jeremy rolled his eyes, clueing in. "Really, babe, I bet you I could get you a real one."
"Too many problems!" I insisted. "This way, I get off, I don't have to kick anyone out of the room."
Darien and Lola finally figured it out, and he grabbed the vibrator out of my hands. "They come in gold?" Well, sparkly gold plastic. Close enough.
Lola shook her head at him, examining my new toy. "When we're in San Francisco, I'll take you to Good Vibrations. You will be shocked at how many models there are. Should I lay in a stock of batteries?"
I stuck my tongue out at her and took the toy back. "Never you mind. I'll take care of it."
Jeremy sighed. "I am afraid my gift doesn't come with batteries."
"But it's a little box! I like little boxes!" I giggled, taking the box from him. Hell, Jeremy never got me presents when we were together. Was he getting soft in his old age? I unwrapped it and found a gorgeous gold pin in the shape of a guitar, delicate and pretty. This was something gold I would actually wear. It would look just right on my denim jacket that I'd had for years, I knew that Jeremy knew that. I had a few fun pins on it now. It would be cool to have something gorgeous on there, too.
"Oh, J!" I smiled at him. "It's gorgeous." He could be good sometimes, my Jeremy. He knew it, too, giving me a sweet smile back. Even after I yelled at him last night, he was giving me nice presents. Okay, he wasn't always pure evil.
Darien sighed. "Fuck. Even Jeremy got you a good gift. Okay, I'll get you a tattoo."
We all shut up, looking at Darien. "Really?" I asked.
"I know I suck, but I've been sorta busy " he tried to explain, and I shook my head.
"No! That rocks! I need a new tattoo!"
"And then can we get our clits pierced?" Lola asked, making me fall into giggles again as the boys groaned.
"What do you want, Rache? Anything. I know a guy in town, he'll do it," Darien offered.
"Something with gold?" I thought out loud. "Since we went gold and all "
"I want one!" James whined, and there was a chorus of agreement around the bed.
"How about the Chinese character for 'gold'?" suggested Lola. "That could be cool."
"I love Lola!" I exclaimed, jumping out of bed and going over to my computer. "That has got to be online somewhere. We're all getting tattoos today!"
"And massages," James told me. "Saffron said the record company was paying, so I made us all appointments."
What if I got Daniel? Wouldn't that be terribly embarrassing? I didn't even want to see him. "Can I get a facial or something instead? I just got a massage the other night."
James raised an eyebrow at me, then came over and felt my forehead. "Are you feeling okay?"
Batting his hand away, I turned back to my computer. "I'm fine. I'm the birthday girl, and I want a facial. And after tattoos, we need to shop."
"That reminds me " Lola said, placing a stack of cash on the desk next to me. "Your per diem."
I considered it for a second, then picked it up and counted it. "Is this yesterday's, too?"
"No, I gave you that yesterday. You went gold, you all got a 100 percent raise. Oh, and Saffron had these couriered over." She handed us each an envelope with the American Express logo on it.
This wasn't it couldn't be at lunch yesterday, I'd complained that I didn't have any credit left, so I couldn't spend like a rock star until I got my next royalty check, and Saffron told us she'd set us up with new credit.
"I think she said they each have a $50,000 limit. And they can up that, if you need it. By next month, you'll be able to pay the bill."
"Oh, yeah," Darien crowed. "I'm putting a Picasso on my AmEx. Take that, Nick Rhodes!"
The boys talked about what they would do with their money, but all I could do was stare at the little piece of gold plastic in my hand. Nick had one of these. He actually had a couple. If I was getting 50 grand for one gold record, what was his limit? Did he have a limit?
God, I wanted to talk to him. He was so good with the business stuff. He always had good advice, from teaching us how to do harmony to telling us to go with the Firm. What did he do when he got his first big check? When was that? Was he only like 14?
No the big money came post-Lou. Dude. We had one hit and were making more money than I could deal with. They'd had dozens with Lou. Suddenly I got it, the lawsuits and the managers and the lawyers. They'd had gold records all over the world and nothing to show for it. Lou fucking Perlman had all the money that Backstreet had earned.
I'd have to punch that guy if our paths ever crossed. I thought EMI was bad, but that was nothing compared to Lou fucking Perlman and TransfuckingCon.
"Rache?" James asked quietly, touching my shoulder, and I smiled up at him.
"I'm good. Shall we find our new tattoos?"
"C'mon you know you wanna watch. Just think how hot it will be," Rachel whispered in my ear as she stroked my cock slowly. Damn, that felt good. Her hands were so soft and warm they were covered in oil that smelled like lavender and always reminded me of her. "Me fucking that girl. You fucking me. Oh, God so hot "I couldn't let her even finish her sentence. It would be hot. So fucking hot. I laid her back on the bed and suddenly Jasmine was there. Undressed already, red hair falling on her shoulders. I wanted to reach out and touch her, but I stopped myself.
Rachel giggled and reached for my hand, "It's okay, Nick. No fair if I can touch and you can't C'mere, Jasmine "
The redhead knelt beside us on the bed, and Rachel took my hand. Together we ran it down Jasmine's arm, and she bent into us, moving closer so we could reach more of her.
"Does she feel like me, Nick?" Rachel's body was pressed against my back now, and I was kissing Jasmine like I couldn't get enough of her. She tasted like wine and strawberries, her pale skin soft under my fingers.
I shook my head as I felt Rachel's hand on my cock, her knee pushing mine apart from behind me and then her fingers were on my balls. Stroking. Pulling. Oh damn, she had to stop, or I was gonna shoot before she got the condom on.
Or was that the idea?
I looked down at Rachel's hand on my cock and Jasmine's tongue licking my stomach. God, that was the hottest thing I'd ever seen.
"C'mere for a sec, Rache " Jasmine's voice interrupted the show, and then it happened. Rachel moved over me, her hands leaving me as she pulled Jasmine's head closer and kissed her. Really kissed her. She moaned as their tongues touched, and I fell onto my back so she could get closer.
Suddenly I didn't exist anymore. Jasmine's hands caressed Rachel's back, cupped her ass her tongue disappearing into her mouth again and again I tried to move between them, but Rachel's hand came up, pushing me away.
"My turn I don't need you now "
I looked over, and Jeremy was there watching. Laughing. "But " I sputtered. "You let him in?!"
My phone rang, jolting me awake. Oh, fuck did I miss another wake up call? Brian was never gonna let me live this down. I'd made him wait to leave this morning and promised him I'd be up. 32 fucking hours in a bus was not gonna be fun, no matter how you sliced it, but at least if we could leap frog Brian, Vin and I could visit him every so often. Fuck around on someone else's bus for a change.
Besides, Leighanne was leaving this morning, too, and I knew Brian was worried. They hadn't been apart since 9/11 No, not going there. I couldn't even think about what life would be like if Leighanne had gotten on that plane.
We wouldn't be here now, that's for sure.
And then it hit me we wouldn't have been in Detroit, either. The tour would have stopped. I could have been with Rachel. Fuck.
Okay, Nick, you aren't seriously wishing that Leighanne had been on that plane were you?
No. Never. Okay, maybe for a second. But only a tiny one like half of one quarter of one
God, I was a sick fuck, wasn't I?
I grabbed the phone, "I'm up."
"Good," Frank's gruff voice on the other end. "I'm going with Brian, and Geoff will meet you at your bus in an hour, okay?"
"Whatever."
Cool. I finally got rid of Frank! I knew he hated Vinnie and he didn't like me very much at the moment, either. He'd be fine with Brian; they'd talk about golf and old man boring things. That'd be just fine. I could get the scoop from Vinnie about what I missed last night.
"One hour, little man, or Geoff comes and drags you out of bed."
Fuck. Last night. I slammed down the phone and jumped out of bed. Had that really happened? Had that girl really said then I remembered that dream. Rachel kissing that girl. Letting me nearly fuck her. Is that what happened with Jeremy? Did Rachel get them started and then get herself off while Jeremy fucked her?
Maybe that's why she was so weird with the cheating thing. Jeremy ruined it for everyone.
Like cheating was an okay thing, Nick?
Man, I needed to get a grip.
I turned on the shower - cold - and jumped in, trying to diminish my erection and wake myself up. But it didn't help. I kept seeing that girl kissing Rachel. Rachel kissing that girl. She had been touching my Rachel, and making her moan the way I did fuck, it was wrong. So wrong
I gave up, leaning against the wall and jerking off. Closing my eyes, I saw Rachel's little body, her perky breasts all pointy and swollen. I ran my finger over the tip of my cock like she always did and closed my eyes, seeing Jasmine's head between Rachel's thighs. Oh fuck fuck me
I came against my hand, and I didn't want to open my eyes. For a second I'd had her with me. I could practically feel her in the room. I didn't care if she was with another girl. Hell, I didn't care if she'd been with Jeremy. I could hear her breathing and feel her body next to mine.
I needed that back. Surely this wasn't really it, right? Couldn't be.
I washed off quickly, pouring too much shampoo on my head, nearly blinding myself with the suds, sputtering as I rinsed off.
No, this couldn't be it. What had AJ said? Give her a couple days to cool off. I had. Maybe she'd talk to me now. That's how these things worked, right? I mean, whenever Mandy and I broke up, one of us had always called and apologized.
Maybe Anna was right. Even if it wasn't my fault, I should apologize. Girls liked that. Yeah. I'd call today and apologize and she'd understand. She had to. I bet she was missing me just as much!
I threw everything I could find into my bag and did a quick scan of the room. I think that was everything. Hell, if it wasn't, I could buy it when I got to Calgary. I groaned as I remembered the drive. 32 hours. If I hadn't been such a fuck up, I could have flown. I'd have been with Rachel today and then flying back to Calgary tomorrow.
I grumbled to myself as I fished for change in my pocket and stopped by the vending machine on my way down to Vinnie's room. He'd better be up. I was in no mood to wait on his sorry ass. I downed half my Coke in one gulp. Maybe the caffeine would give me the jolt I needed to stop obsessing about Rachel. Vin and I would get to the bus and watch some stupid movies and blow stuff up.
I knocked on Vinnie's door and heard giggling. Girl giggling. Damn. He let them stay over?
Like I wouldn't have? I didn't like to kick girls out. That was rude!
I scowled as he opened the door, a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Dude, we gotta hit the road."
"So early, Nicky?" he nearly whined. "But I'm barely up."
The blonde
came up behind him, dressed only in her skimpy tank top and nothing else. I
glanced down. Okay, not a real blonde, then. I had to stifle a giggle at the
thought.
"You're up, Vin
well you were
" She giggled, running her
hand down the front of his towel and stroking his dick as she pressed her back
against him. "Nick, we missed you last night. Come back to play?"
I considered her for a moment. Here Vinnie was bagging my chicks girls who were only here because I was the Backstreet Boy. And how'd I spend my night? Being pissed off at my ex-girlfriend and then jerking off in the shower this morning. Man, I was a loser!
"Whatever. Vin, I gotta go. Hell of a long ride to Calgary. You stay and play with the wonder twins, and I'll talk to you later."
"You don't mind, dawg? I mean " He shrugged off the blonde and leaned closer to me, "We could bring them with. You know, have a ride on the ride, if you know what I mean "
"Nah, Vin. I got shit to do. Phone interviews on the bus and crap." Okay, that was a lie, but Vinnie didn't know that. Suddenly I didn't want to be in a bus with him. I didn't want to be anywhere with him. Especially not with these girls.
"Oh well, if I'm just gonna be in the way "
"You're never in the way, Vincent!" The redhead. Jasmine. She'd joined him now, running her hand down her friend's arm and leaning against the doorframe, looking at me. I ignored her . Yeah, she'd wanted to get a rise out of me least night, and she'd known she'd succeed.
"Treat the ladies to breakfast and charge it to my room, Vin. We'll talk next week."
I didn't even wait for his response, but walked off. Maybe Brian hadn't left yet and I could start out riding with him. Suddenly I didn't want to be alone not with Vinnie and those girls, anyway.
My phone rang, and I answered it, stepping out of the room. "Hello?"
"Happy birthday, Aunt Rachel!"
Aw that was all four of them, too. Okay, Billy wasn't quite talking yet, but I could hear his little voice back there. "Hey, guys! Thank you!" I had the best nieces and nephew in the world.
My heart ached, and I fell onto the couch in the waiting area. I just wanted to go home. Fuck the money we were suddenly making; I'd give it all up to be at home on my birthday.
Well maybe. Sorta. Could I have the cash and the birthday at home? My mom would make me a carrot cake, and the kids would be there, shoving handmade presents at me to open. I loved my kids' artwork. Colleen felt strongly that glitter made all things better. She was a smart kid.
There was some commotion on the other end, and then I got Colleen. "Dad said I got to go first!" she whined at her older sister. "Hi, Aunt Rachel!"
"Hey, baby," I answered, forcing myself to smile. "How are you?"
"Cool. What are you doing? What time is it in LA? Dad says it's 3 in the afternoon, but I've got it on my calendar that it's three hours behind us."
"As usual, darling, you are smarter than your father. It's just after one, yeah
She loved it when I teased their dad. He knew what time it was here. I'd talked to him last night sometime, telling him about the money and getting some advice. I think he was just pleased that I'd be paying off the credit card bills he'd been tracking for me.
"So what are you doing?"
"I am getting a tattoo, actually," I admitted, making her squeal.
"Right now? What is it?"
"Well, not right now. Lola and Darien are currently under the needle. Then me and James. Jeremy already got his."
Jeremy had to go first for the tattoos, because needles freaked him out. Pansy ass.
"It's a band tattoo? What is it?" she demanded, making me giggle.
"I'm actually getting two. Darien's getting me one for my birthday, then we're getting a band tattoo."
"That's a cool present. Did you get our presents yet?"
"No!" I pouted. There had been breakfast and massages and now we were here. I hadn't thought about stuff from my family "Did you send stuff?"
"Yeah! A whole big box! Grandma, did we send Aunt Rachel's birthday stuff?"
I heard Mom in the background, telling her they'd sent it to Lola. Mom was good that way.
"I'll yell at Lola when I get off the phone with you, Col. I'm sure it's cool."
"Not as cool as a tattoo! What is it?" she demanded yet again.
"The one Darien is getting me is very cool," I told her. "It's going on my arm, the inside of my elbow."
"Where Darien has his Sudden Silence tattoo?"
My nieces liked body art. They were fascinated by Darien, and one of these days, they wanted to meet AJ and tell him to strip, so they could count all this tattoos.
"Exactly there, yes. I want to be able to see it."
"So it must be good."
"I think so. It's three Chinese characters. Did you know those are called kanji?"
"Kanji," she repeated. "No, I didn't know that. What are they?"
"Woman, strength, and advocate. When you put them together, it means 'feminist.' That sorta rocks, doesn't it?" I'd stumbled across the design when we were looking for stuff online, and I knew it was perfect. It was my reminder that I shouldn't let stupid boys fuck with my life.
"That so rocks! I want to see it!"
"I'll be home next week." I couldn't wait. It was only for a couple days, before we went to Europe, but it was better than nothing. I needed to see my mom. I'd talked to her last night, too, but I couldn't tell her about Nick. Hell, I hadn't told James about what really happened yet. I wasn't sure what AJ had told him, and I didn't want to know.
"Then what's the band tattoo?"
Did she know? "Did your dad tell you he talked to me yesterday?"
"No!" she protested. "When? Why didn't I get to talk to you?"
"You were in bed, sweetie," I said, trying not to laugh at her outrage. "Then he didn't tell you my news."
"What?"
"We decided we needed a band tattoo because something very cool happened, and we found out yesterday. We're each getting the kanji for 'gold,' because our album has gone gold."
Silence for a moment, and then she started shrieking, making me burst into laughter. There was a huge amount of commotion on the other end of the phone, Colleen repeating over and over again "Gold. Gold. Gold!" and finally Katie came on the line.
"Gold?" was the first word out of her mouth, and I laughed again.
"Yes, baby. We went gold."
"That is so cool! What is that, like a million CDs?"
"Half a million," I corrected her. I couldn't even imagine a million. Saffron kept saying it was a sure thing. They were planning a huge Christmas push and booking us on a radio tour that would help sell more CDs. But I didn't believe her. A million ?
"You rock! How are you getting a gold tattoo?"
I had to repeat the tattoo story again, and Katie also thought it was very cool. "So what is Nick doing, now that you've gone gold? Does that get cooler presents than hitting number one on TRL?"
Fuck. I hated my nieces. Why did they have to like him so much? Why was he so fucking nice to them? If he'd been a jerk, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I couldn't bear to think of the looks on their faces when I told them we were broken up
Did I actually think we'd be together forever? One of these days I'd have had to tell them they weren't getting a Backstreet uncle.
But that wasn't going to be today.
"I dunno, honey, I haven't seen him in a few days." That wasn't really a lie. I hadn't.
"Wasn't he supposed to be with you today? I thought you said that last week!"
"He was, but, uh, something came up." Like his dick. Into another girl.
Bastard.
"That sucks! Now you're alone on your birthday!"
I smiled as Darien came out of the back room, shirtless and heading right for me. "No, baby. I've got my boys. And Lola. I've had a great birthday."
"I'm putting a Picasso on my AmEx!" Darien crowed, looking incredibly pleased with himself.
"How did you manage that?"
He turned around and pointed at his shoulder. There was a brand new tattoo, Picasso's simple line drawing of a dove. "Isn't it cool?"
"Darien, you rock. Yes. It's totally cool."
"Your turn! James is getting ready. I was sent to get you."
"And to show off, I'm sure." I went back to the phone. "Katie, sweetie, I've got to go and get my new tattoos, okay? I'll call you tomorrow, and we'll have a long chat."
"Okay. Love you! Take pictures and send them to us!"
"I will, baby. Give everyone a hug from me."
I hung up and let Darien pull me out of my seat. Yeah, this was a good birthday. I didn't need Nick. I had a good life.
