"Nick!" she hissed as I closed the door softly and came up behind her. As she turned around in my arms, the look in her eyes told me that she wasn't really mad, though. Aaron had interrupted us this morning, and I could tell we weren't going to get much alone time while he was here. "Your brother is just up there."

"Then I guess we'll have to be quick," I murmured against her lips, kissing her as I walked her back. I misjudged the size of the room, and her legs hit the bed and we tumbled onto it. Good thing it was soft.

We were still for a moment as we listened to the dull sound of the engines and rap music that Aaron was playing up on top. We were fine. He'd be preoccupied for a bit. He was the one who kept bugging me to drive, after all. Besides… what was he gonna do, stop the boat so he could come find us?

Rachel ran her foot along the back of my calf. Her skin was already flushed from the sun, and her curly hair fanned out around her on the bed as she smiled up at me. "I like this big bed. Reminds me of your tour bus."

"We have a thing for beds that move, huh, Rache?"

"The curse of the rock star," she laughed, reaching out for my hand and bringing it up to her breasts. Her breath caught as I took her lead, cupping her breasts in my hand and leaning down to bite lightly at her nipple through her bikini top. They were already hard, and her suit tasted salty, so I carefully pulled down one cup, freeing her breast and making her giggle. "You're so impatient."

"Too good to wait," I answered, knowing that she didn't mind when she arched her back, wrapping one leg around my waist to rub against me. She groaned as my mouth latched onto her breast, sucking and running my teeth over the sensitive nipple as she moved against me.

"God, Nick… more," she whispered, stretching her arms out to steady herself as I peeled her bottoms off, immediately tracing her heart-shaped pussy with my wet tongue. Yeah, she liked that, too, but we didn't have time for all this teasing… "God, I like these!"

I looked up her body at the unfamiliar tone in her voice and saw that she'd slipped her hands into the braces at the top of the bed. Oh… those… I'd thought they were sort of pointless and annoying before. I mean, if you were lying in bed and the water got choppy, you'd just roll around on the bed. No big deal.

But seeing Rachel's half-naked body spread out before me, her hands holding on to them… now I could see their appeal…

Suddenly the engines cut off. "NICK… RACHEL… DOLPHINS!"

Moving in record time, Rachel sat up, pulling back on her bikini bottoms, as we heard Aaron screaming, and then his feet as he ran across the deck immediately above us. "A whole family of them! You gotta see this!"

"But I want to see more of that," I whined, rolling onto my back and watching Rachel adjusting herself back into her suit.

"You'll get to see more of that, bunny," Rachel promised, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. I leaned against her for a moment, wrapping my arms around her and holding her close to me.

"Promise?"

"We are so not done with the master suite!" she giggled before opening the door just as Aaron called for us again.

But we were done in the master suite… well, for the trip down here, anyway. I'd still find a way to get her alone on the boat. Maybe take it out far enough so I could tie her up and no one could hear her screams of pleasure. Damn, I had to stop thinking about this or I was going to embarrass myself in front of the bellman.

The bellman opened the door to our suite, and Rachel was across the room in an instant, opening the door to our deck and going out to look at the view. Whatever this resort was costing me, it was totally worth it for the smile it brought to her pretty lips.

"I get the big bedroom," Aaron announced from the far side of the balcony. Like I cared. As long as it had a bed and Rachel, I was set. Maybe Aaron would want to go swimming before dinner and leave us alone for a while. I had a feeling that wasn't happening, though. He liked Rachel now, which was better than how he was acting last night.

"In your dreams!" Rachel teased as she peered over the balcony at the view. Suddenly Aaron was laughing, and Rachel covered his eyes with her hand. What the hell… Joining them, I followed her gaze down to the beach below and figured out what she was responding to.

Both bedrooms opened out onto either side of our amazing balcony and from here we had a perfect view of the private beach below. When the sun set, we'd have a great view of that, too. But right now, we had a spectacular view of topless women sunbathing. Guess our resort had a topless beach. Cool!

Wait… had Rachel known that? Judging from the look on her face, the answer was no. Well, not until about a minute ago.

"Cool! We get the nice view, baby!" I joked, and Aaron pouted at me as Rachel led him over to what was now "his" side of the balcony. From over there you couldn't really see the private beach because there were hedges surrounding it.

"C'mon… you've got a girl! You can see breasts whenever you want!"

"As if!" Rachel countered, crossing her arms over her chest as if to shield herself from our roaming eyes.

"C'mon, buttercup…" Going over to her, I gently moved her arms away. "I'm paying for the room." I playfully pulled her top away from her body, peering down at her breasts. Well, her bathing suit top. But Aaron didn't know that.

"I could pay for it!"

"Yeah, but only I'm cool enough for AmEx black!"

She pouted up at me, and I just had to kiss her, sucking gently on her bottom lip. She stopped arguing for a moment, and I felt her fingers in my hair as she returned my kiss. Holding her close to my body, I could smell the salt on her skin from the ride down here. I loved that smell… it was so familiar and peaceful.

"Get a room!" Aaron's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "You guys are sickening, you know that?"

"He started it!" Rachel laughed.

"What'd I tell you, bro… just can't keep my hands off of her. Why don't you go unpack or something?"

He rolled his eyes, grumbling to himself as he disappeared into his room. In a moment we heard the TV blaring, and Rachel turned back to me. "The idea was for us to spend time with him, Nick."

"I know," I pulled her warm body back to mine, kissing her again. "Three hours on the boat was good, though. He can give us 10 minutes to enjoy the view."

I felt Nick's fingertips travel up my spine until he got to the tie on my bikini top. Before I could protest, he was pulling it off under my t-shirt, "Is that what we're doing… enjoying the view?"

Smirking at me, he leaned his head down, peeking again down my shirt. "I am."

Next thing I knew, he was walking backwards toward our room, pulling me along with him. Not that I was protesting. Could I bottle this "Florida Nick" and take him everywhere with me?

Ever since our stupid fight in Tampa, he'd been more affectionate than… ever, actually. Even when we were together over the summer he wasn't this… attentive didn't quite cover it. 'Playful', maybe? It was like nothing else mattered but his family and me.

I liked the Carters. Especially now that Aaron liked me more, I felt like I might fit in with them. I liked that Nick was comfortable with my family. Even that last time at home when he was afraid Jon and Patrick were going to beat him up, he was still cool with them. Lord knows Mom and the girls loved him.

Apparently, Jane and Bob were keeping the fighting to a minimum, or maybe the fighting had all been in Aaron's head. Hard to tell. They seemed to both have his best interest at heart, just conflicting ideas on what that was. I probably shouldn't have an opinion, so I tried to keep my thoughts to myself. And it wasn't like Nick had asked. He still didn't want to really talk about it.

"Rachel," Nick murmured in my ear before his lips traveled down my neck. He licked the hollow of my neck, and I turned toward him, throwing a leg over his and arching into his body as we lay on the soft bed. After being on the boat for so long, it was nice to be still, especially in his arms. "That's better. You were a million miles away, baby." I smiled as he moved back a bit, running his thumb over my bottom lip. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah. Great. Just thinking too much."

"Can't have that… unless it's sex thoughts." His fingers caressed my stomach, playing with my tattoo, and I sighed.

"Turning into sex thoughts quickly. Damn, Nick…"

Leaning into me again, he kissed me thoroughly, his strong, slippery tongue stroking mine, making me hungry for the next kiss before this one ended. So nice… we'd started fooling around a bit on the boat ride down here, but then Aaron had spotted some dolphins and we'd stopped to watch them. Now I just wanted to finish what we'd started. I wanted to lie here all afternoon, making out with my boyfriend as I heard the waves crashing into the beach below and smelled the salt air.

But Aaron would have none of that. Suddenly the bed dipped underneath us, and Nick's lips left mine abruptly. Before I could register what happened, Nick had Aaron in a headlock on the bed, while Aaron just cackled. I saw him glancing down at me, and I realized my bikini top was lying out on the deck somewhere. At least Nick hadn't pulled off my t-shirt… yet. I sat up, catching Nick's eye, asking him in a glance if anything was sticking out that shouldn't be. He had the same thought, looking down quickly. We'd have to learn to lock the doors now that his brother was around.

"You can't stay in here making out all day, dawg!"

I released him, meeting Rachel's eye. She was pretty and flushed from our brief make out session. Thank god I hadn't gotten around to pulling off her clothes yet. That would have been embarrassing. I could tell she was thinking the same thing as she glanced down at my crotch. Damn. When'd she do that? Leaning back, I readjusted, and Aaron just laughed at me.

Wait a minute! Did he do this on purpose? Interrupt us hoping he'd see my girlfriend naked or something? I didn't want him to like her that much!

"Let's do a tour," Rachel offered, and I realized she was sitting up, leafing through a bunch of brochures they'd left on the nightstand by our bed.

I could just feel Aaron taking a breath to object to her idea, and I spoke before he could. "Save your breath, dude. She's just like Dad with the tours and historical crap."

"Damn! Let's go to the beach. They have a cool parasailing thing. I saw a sign on the way over!"

Rachel giggled, eyeing me before shaking her head. Did she see fear in my eyes? Yeah, probably. "Your brother hates to fly in a plane, what makes you think he'll fly above the water with just a rope holding him up?"

"It's fun!"

I could feel my stomach sinking, and Rachel's warm hand grabbed mine, "It's okay, bunny. We won't make you."

"Bunny!" Aaron quipped before making a gagging noise. Rachel was right… he was a brat, wasn't he?

I grabbed him in a headlock again. "Just for that, we're doing the tour. Rachel, pick the most embarrassing one for the brat!"

She considered the brochures for a moment, "Oh! This one is a choo-choo train! And it leaves every half hour!"

Aaron could only groan in defeat as Rachel called down to make a reservation for us on the next tour.

"Let's play a game."

Both boys turned to look at me with identical expectant looks on their faces. In about 24 hours, I'd gone from evil money-grubbing whore to Aaron's new best friend, even if I had made him go on the city tour. I was starting to worry that now Nick and I would never be alone again. But for the moment, it was cool.

"We get to pick songs for each other. And whatever we pick, you have to sing." We'd wandered into a karaoke bar because they didn't have an age limit. Well, it didn't really look like anyone in Key West cared how old Aaron was, but I'd rather not get the kid drunk. He'd probably already gotten a contact high off all the smoke and alcohol fumes from the crowds on the street.

Key West was a great idea. The boat ride had been gorgeous, and Aaron had taught me how to steer their yacht. My family's boat was about the quarter of the size of their party boat. Our hotel room was perfect, and we'd gotten here just in time to do a city tour and then see the sunset. I'd gotten to pick the tour so it was only fair that Aaron got to pick our dinner spot. And this was good, a casual restaurant-slash-karaoke bar… in Key West of all places. This was good family fun, right?

"Awesome!" Aaron was not difficult to convince. Nick gave me a look.

"Anything?"

"Anything," I promised him. Aaron took off to look through the book of songs near the bar, so I leaned closer to Nick, running my fingers down his arm. "Whatever you want…" I purred.

He caught my lips in a kiss, tasting like the beer he'd been drinking all night. I'd had a couple of crazy rum drinks with dinner, and we were both a little drunk. Not enough to be stupid, but enough to be silly. Just right for karaoke.

"Think he'll notice if we leave him here and go back to the hotel?" Nick whispered against my ear, and I smiled at him.

"He might be pissed if we don't sing the million songs he's picking for us."

Nick glanced around and then moved away from me, yelling for his brother. Aaron handed a piece of paper to the bartender and ran back to our table. "What?"

"How many songs did you pick?"

Aaron shrugged. "Just one for each of you. They've got everything!"

"Please don't have picked System of a Down," I complained, and Aaron's eyes lit up.

"I didn't see that one!" He started to go back to the bar, but Nick pulled him back down in his seat.

"We've got a book here, A." They flipped through what must be the short list, laughing over some of the selections, and I found another book on an empty table near us. It wasn't very crowded. I guess karaoke wasn't very popular on Halloween or something. And we'd sorta stumbled on this place, wandering down a side street because I'd gotten tired of the crowds.

I had no idea where we were. Our hotel was on the water, right? So find the water and we'd find the hotel again eventually.

Then again, Key West was an island. It was surrounded by water. Damn.

But I didn't have time to worry about that, because I heard the MC calling my name from the stage. "And the lovely Rachel will be entertaining us with…"

Aaron nearly tackled the guy, whispering something in his ear as I exchanged a glance with Nick, and then approached the stage. Aaron was cackling to himself as he went back to our table, and I whacked him as I walked by. I didn't know what song it was yet, but I could tell that Aaron deserved a whack anyway. This was going to be bad, wasn't it?

Or maybe I just wanted to be bad.

They actually had this song? Willa's pitiful single was popular enough to get the karaoke treatment? The all-too familiar intro started, and I looked out to find our table. "You are dead, little man," I said into the mic, and I could hear Aaron's giggle from across the room. Brat.

I was so shocked when I heard the music that it took me a second to lean over and punch my brother. "That's just mean, you little brat!"

Pouting, he rubbed his arm. "She thinks it's funny. It is funny!"

I looked back at Rachel and realized she was actually enjoying this. She sang in an exaggerated sex kitten tone, vamping it up for the guys in front of the tiny stage who were yelling for her. Hey, she was mine!

Like three guys in this tiny bar was worse than the thousands that screamed her name most night? Whatever. She looked over their heads to grin at me, and I smiled back, throwing my arm around Aaron. "I never thought I could enjoy this song, bro."

"Neither did I," he admitted, staring at Rachel. "She is way hotter than Mandy."

"Told you she was nothing like Mandy, if you'd just give her a chance."

Aaron shot me one of his annoyed little brother looks. "After all the stupid things you've done, why would you expect me to think that she was different?"

I pushed him away from me, trying not to laugh. "I'm getting smarter in my old age."

"Nah, Rachel is just a fluke. She'll figure it out soon enough, and maybe by then I'll be old enough for her."

I laughed. "Rachel won't stop aging while you grow up, A. She will forever be too old for you and just right for me."

"How old did you say her nieces were?"

"Katie's your age." And Jon would kill me. He barely liked me with his sister. No way was my bratty brother getting near one of his daughters. Besides, Aaron might be turning out to be a bigger player than I was. Pops was telling me some stories last night… he wanted me to have a talk with Aaron, but not now. I'd find the right time. Maybe.

"Is she cute?" he looked up at me, a huge smile on his face. "Does she look like her aunt?"

"She's 12, Aaron. I don't know! She's a sweet girl."

"I've got things on my mind, I never thought I would…" Rachel crooned across the room, and had to laugh when she caught my eye. I never thought I'd like this song again. I might be able to do the dance moves. I'd seen Mandy practice them enough. Rachel wasn't into dance steps, though, she just shimmied her hips, and that was enough for every guy in the room. Including my brother. Maybe Aaron liked Rachel too much now.

With one final pout, Rachel finished the song, and the guys in the front stood up, hollering for her. She bowed and handed the mic back to the MC, but the guys wouldn't let her by, crowding around to talk to her. Did they know who she was, or was she just that hot?

I felt like we were anonymous here, just another couple in shorts and t-shirts, almost normal. Well, except for my AmEx Black getting us a last minute hotel room. But walking around Key West tonight, we'd been normal. Had Rachel done any of her rock star moves up there? Or was she just silly and pretending to be Mandy?

I got up to see if Rachel needed to be rescued just as the MC called my name. Walking up to the stage, I took a second to put my arm around her, kissing her cheek quickly. "I never thought I'd like that song again, buttercup."

She grinned up at me. "I'm not sure that I want you to like that song, baby. I should have fucked it up on purpose."

"I don't think you could do anything bad," one of the guys flirted, and I shot him a look. The flirting was supposed to end now!

The guy took half a step back at my glare, and I felt Rachel relax against me. "He called your name, sweetie. Go see what torture Aaron has chosen for you." I stepped up on the stage and Rachel went back to our table, waving at her new fans.

What the fuck was this? Did Aaron pick a country song for me? Little shit.

"Friends in Low Places" started as I sat down next to Aaron, and I laughed. "Did he tell you we wrote a country song together?"

Aaron gave me a completely incredulous look. "Tell me you're kidding."

"No," I said with a giggle. "We did. It rocks. I'll play it for you… well, when we get back to Marathon." My guitar was still there. I was too afraid it might get waterlogged on the boat ride. Of course, I hadn't realized then that their 'boat' was actually a small floating mansion and my guitar would have been fine stored in one of the watertight closets in the master bedroom.

Was it possible that Nick had never heard this song? Didn't everyone know this song? He stumbled over the words, alternating between giggling and glaring at his brother. Oh, this was a riot. He picked it up by the second chorus, belting it out in a faux country accent, cracking me up. Even my new fans were enjoying his performance, and there was a table of girls off to the side who were yelling along. Were they big Garth Brooks fans or did they recognize him? Maybe karaoke was a bad idea. We could be incognito in our sloppy clothes, looking like we just rolled off the boat, but any fan would realize who Nick was as soon as he started singing.

Then again, he was singing a country song. Who would ever suspect that from a Backstreet Boy?

What could I torture Aaron with?

I looked through the book as Nick finished and found one that he'd probably know. I could be nice and give him Journey, but what's the fun in that? Oh! I should make Nick sing a Duran Duran song or better yet, Hole. See if he'd actually been listening to all that music I made him buy earlier this summer.

Nick finished his song and Aaron and I leapt to our feet, clapping for him as someone else took the stage. I glanced back at the girls in the corner and saw one of them pull out a camera, taking a quick picture. She saw me and turned bright red, but I just smiled. A few pictures were okay. As long as no one got this on tape. That could be really embarrassing.

The guy on stage made his way through a Britney song, much to his drunk friend's amusement, and I submitted Aaron's song. Before long they were calling his name and he leapt up, grinning back at me, "You'd better be nice to me!"

"Why? You made me sing that horrible song!"

The intro started and Aaron caught my eye, smiling brightly, "Cool!"

Oh good, he knew this one. I didn't want to be too mean to him. He was just getting to like me, after all.

"You know he loves this song, right?"

I shook my head, "No way! I just didn't want to give him a hard one."

Nick rolled his eyes as Aaron started belting out "Eye of the Tiger," prancing around the stage. A few girls from the back table came up to be closer to the stage, and he winked at them as he sang, trying not to lose his place in the song.

"Look, your brother has fans!" I cooed and Nick sighed.

"Yeah, Pops tells me my innocent little brother is becoming quite the player on the road."

"He's only 13!"

"Almost 14, Rache… but acts like he's 18. Look at him, wiggling his hips and stuff."

I had to laugh at that. He reminded me a lot of the pictures of Nick I'd seen when he was performing in early Backstreet footage.
