Warning... there is no Backstreet here!

Welcome to "Tragical Fiction Tangents" or the prequel to what is Oreos for Breakfast.

Long before there was a girl called Rachel or a boy called Nick (Carter, that is) there was Britpop... There was another boy called Nick in a band called Duran Duran (remember them?) There was a boy called Alex in a band called Blur. There was another boy called Jarvis in a band called Pulp.

These are some of their stories...

By way of introduction...

I live in a city. It takes me 15 minutes to walk to work. 15 minutes to think about nothing but count the number of car alarms blaring and red lights in front of me. 15 minutes to weave around other commuters trying to get to their jobs.

In these 15 minutes other things occupy my time: a lyric from the last pop song I heard before switching off the radio in my bedroom, a lingering image from a dream I had the previous night, a mental agenda of my day.... A few years ago, it was a Pulp lyric or a sentence from an interview or the curve of his wrist and curl of his fingers.

Do you ever feel like you get too many thoughts than will comfortably fit inside your head? That's when I write.

What would happen if we all met up in the year 2000? A man after my own heart (mind). What if... a week's worth of 15 minute "what ifs" can be overwhelming, you know.

That's what this is. Fan fiction, I suppose. A collection of "what ifs" pulled together by an otherwise rational woman -- see this line...

---------------------------------------

Reality is above. Fiction below.

I get it.

Fiction. Just another way their art impacts our lives. Their words shape our words, which create another narrative.

Setting. Plot. Love Interest.

It could be a video, really.
